Christmas Shopping

Ah November, Halloween has come and gone and the air is filled with the smells of crisp apples and decaying foliage. Also quickly permeating the air is the rapidly increasing scent of desperation as people try to hunt down the perfect gift for their loved ones. In today's economy everyone's looking for the best deal and there's certainly nothing wrong with that. For those of us that are crafty such as myself this means making the majority of the gifts you plan on giving and more power to you. For those of you who aren't so creative but appreciate hand crafted goods I suggest you try holiday shopping on Esty. Etsy is a site where talented artists and crafters come together to sell their products. Some can be a little pricey but if your willing to dig you can find some great deals on quality goods. I myself have a shop there called Crystal Poetry and really I enjoy being a part of the Etsy community. They even have teams on Etsy and several of the teams have shops that donate their proceeds to charities. One of the teams I'm a part of is the Queer Etsy Team and their group shop donates 100% of their proceeds to the Trevor Project which is the only crisis and suicide prevention hotline for LGBTQ youth which with this growing rash of gay teen suicides is a hotline in desperate need. So if your looking for quality handmade gifts this holiday season look no further than Etsy and maybe pick up a gift that gives back.
